Recess

I think that at school we should have a longer recess. I think that because recess is one of the only times in the day that we (students) have to play outside or do something active that we want to do. I think that we deserve a longer recess because for us it is only 25 minutes. For some people in other schools they might have a longer recess. I think that we should have a longer recess too.

For this to work though we need the people who like to play games on their iPads during recess to stop and actually go outside. Tree Planting

Last week my grade took buses to Hillside Park to plant trees. It is very important to plant trees so that we can help the environment. Trees help us in many ways. Some of them are that we can have shade, fresh water, oxygen and more. Here is some history about Hillside Park. It was built in 1922. Hillside Park High School was the first high school in Durham to have black students be able to learn there.

When we got there, we learned about the history of Hillside Park. Now I will be talking about how to plant the tree. First we had to dig a big hole that was large enough for the baby tree that you can see in the picture above. Next we put the tree in the hole and stabbed the roots a little bit. You stab the roots to make it grow faster. After that we added some mulch pieces around the tree. Finally we put a gray plastic protective cover on the tree to support it when it is growing.

I am so happy that we were able to contribute to helping the environment, and you should to. Thank you

Reading Log

In class, we have been tracking our reading. To track our reading, we use the app sheets. I think that it is really important to keep track of what you read. Keeping track of what you read can help you remember which page you are on or the author of a book you read a long time ago. Every time I finish reading a book, I will go into my reading log and update it. Sometimes I forget to update it, which is not good because it will mess up the organization. You should make a reading log, too.

Goldfish

I have a goldfish named Bubble or Bobino depends on the day. I think that goldfish are really great pets, and if any child wants one and is capable of taking care of it on their own, they should get one. My goldfish is really easy to care for. When I wake up in the morning to get ready for school, I feed him a pinch of food, and I do that every day. Know there is a catch, you have to clean their tanks every once in a while. Cleaning fish tanks is not that fun, but it will help keep your fish alive and healthy. So if you want a fish and think you can take care of one, I think you should ask your parents for one because they are really great pets.

Soccer⚽️

Soccer is a fun, tiring, and active. There are different leagues, and some are competitive, and some are not. For example, there are Major League Soccer and Premier League soccer teams that are some very hardcore soccer teams. You can also play for smaller teams. If you are younger, you can play for teams like NCFC👍or Triangle United👎. If you are in high school, you can most likely play for your school, too. The point is, soccer is a really fun sport, and you should try it if you already don’t play.

Snow Days

I am going to talk about snow days. Snow days are days when it snows and are usually days off from school. Some people think days off from school are fun, and others don’t. I’m going to list some pros and cons of snow days.

Pros

  • get to play in the snow with friends
  • break day
  • get to catch up
  • hang out with family
  • less school work for home

Cons

  • don’t learn as much
  • families have to stay home
  •  Extended  school(sometimes)
  • Harder on teachers

 

These pros and cons are just a small number of arguments you could make to any side.

UNC is the best team

I think that UNC is the best team. They have a lot of rivals, but the main one is  Duke. You might be wondering why. They are rivals because their schools are very close together (both schools are in North Carolina). There are many sports that you can play in college at UNC, from soccer to tennis and football. You can also watch all of these sports at games. That’s why I think that UNC  is the best team.

Book review

Title: Spy School series

Author: Stuart Gibbs

genre: Mystery and Humor

If you like adventure and mystery, you should read the Spy School series. It has a lot of books, and in every book, there is a new mission that pops up for them to accomplish. For example, how would you infiltrate a huge cruise ship with a lot of evil people on it?

The Spy School series is a touching, good story, and there are many characters, each with a different background and story to tell. Two of the characters are named Erica and Ben. They are almost opposites with different skill sets.

I think you should read this book because it is a book, and it also explores family relationships with Erica, the character. I can not personally relate to her in this way, but other people might be able to. In my opinion, this book series is great because of all the suspense and cool things they do. It just makes you want to read the next book.

My favorite book in the series is Project X because the character Ben goes through a lot in that book, and it is really interesting to hear about. So that is why I would rate this book series a 5-star review /🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩.
